Stealthwall
The world’s first radar absorbing composite wall cladding system
Spanwall has also developed the world’s first radar absorbing composite wall cladding system. The system, which uses stealth technology,
absorbs the radar signal and disperses it within the core material, thus neutralising the signal. The Stealthwall cladding system should make
airports safer and may revolutionise their design as it is now possible to build taller buildings closer to runways, without affecting air traffic
control. The first building to incorporate this system is the new British Airways World Cargocentre at Heathrow Airport. This is British Airways’
largest ever investment in a building and is four storeys high, the size of six football pitches and is built only 450 metres from the South runway.
All Spanwall architectural wall cladding systems are fully tested both in-house and at accredited testing centres for air permeability,
weathertightness and structural loading to BS6375 Part 1:1983, BS5368 Part 1:1976, Part 2:1980, Part 3:1978 and Part 4:1978.
These tests are all witnessed by an independent testing authority.
